Philips Hue smart lighting products are about to get more expensive for US consumers. Parent company Signify has confirmed that prices across the Hue portfolio will increase starting July 1, citing US import tariffs as the direct cause.
In a statement to Hueblog, Signify said,
“We remain committed to providing consumers with high-quality products and features that make smart lighting extraordinary…but reserve the right to modify prices based on new or additional tariffs becoming effective in the future.”
While the company hasn’t released a full list of affected products or exact pricing adjustments, early signs indicate a 10–30% increase on some items:
- The new Hue Play Wall Washer is priced at $219.99 in the US, compared to €199.99 in Europe.
- The latest Hue Smart Button now costs $32.99, up from $24.99 for its predecessor, while EU pricing remains unchanged at €21.99.
This price hike may push cost-sensitive customers to seek cheaper smart lighting alternatives, especially as other brands may absorb some of the 125% tariffs on Chinese imports rather than passing them directly to consumers.
Signify’s statement also suggests more price hikes could follow if additional tariffs are enacted. The company’s official Hue store is expected to reflect the new US pricing next week, though third-party retailers may take longer to adjust.
With Philips Hue already positioned as a premium smart lighting brand, the increased costs may reshape how US consumers shop for smart home tech this year.
