This year, the happiest city in the United States is located in northern California.
In its list of the Happiest Cities in the United States for the year 2023, the personal finance website WalletHub placed Fremont first.
The report looked at 30 important indicators of happiness, such as the rate of income growth and depression, and compared more than 180 of the largest cities.
For the third year in a row, Fremont topped the list.
It had the lowest rate of separation and divorce, as well as the lowest rate of depression.
San Francisco, which came in fifth, and San Jose, which came in second, were two other California cities in the top five.
Overland Park, Kansas, came in fourth place, and Madison, the capital of Wisconsin, came in third.
In the top 20, there were also San Diego, Irvine, Oakland, and Huntington Beach.
With a score of 182, Detroit, Michigan, was the least happy city.
